The Myanmar junta has consistently exploited natural disasters for its own gain while being the driving force behind the country’s largest man-made humanitarian catastrophe. It is crucial that international efforts focus on delivering aid directly to those in need, rather than empowering the very regime responsible for their suffering.

We must find ways to bypass the junta in providing assistance to the victims. Aid must reach the hands of those who truly need it, not those who perpetuate the violence. The international community, governments, and humanitarian organizations must prioritize alternative channels to ensure aid is delivered without empowering the junta’s brutal regime.
