CHRO Featured in USCIRF Podcast on Universal Jurisdiction and Accountability for Burma

The Chin Human Rights Organization (CHRO) is proud to announce the release of a new episode of the USCIRF Spotlight Podcast examining universal jurisdiction as a growing pathway for accountability for atrocity crimes committed in Burma/Myanmar.

The episode features CHRO Executive Director Salai Za Uk alongside Burmese human rights advocate Tun Khin in a discussion on the importance of universal jurisdiction efforts, the pursuit of justice for victims, and the growing international movement to challenge impunity for crimes committed by the Burmese military.

For years, CHRO has worked to document grave human rights violations and support international accountability efforts relating to crimes committed in Chin State and across Burma. CHRO’s contribution to universal jurisdiction initiatives reflects the organization’s long standing commitment to ensuring that survivors and victims are not abandoned to silence and impunity.

As avenues for justice continue to expand through national courts around the world, this conversation highlights why accountability remains essential not only for justice, but for any future founded on human rights, dignity, and lasting peace.

CHRO expresses its appreciation to the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom for continuing to spotlight the situation in Burma and the importance of international accountability mechanisms.
