Federal Democracy, Accountability, and Civilian Protection
For over 30 years, the Chin Human Rights Organization (CHRO) has advanced justice, human rights, and minority protection in Burma. In the wake of escalating atrocity crimes and widespread civilian targeting, CHRO works to document violations, preserve evidence, and pursue accountability through national, regional, and international mechanisms consistent with international human rights law.
Rooted in ethnic communities and operating across borders, CHRO strengthens local and state-level governance capacities, promotes federal democratic principles, and supports civilian protection initiatives in partnership with affected communities. From advancing Universal Jurisdiction cases to engaging the United Nations and regional actors, CHRO ensures that voices from the ground shape global action.
Durable peace in Burma requires justice, federal democracy, and protection for all ethnic and religious minorities. CHRO stands committed to building the institutional foundations necessary for a rights-respecting, inclusive, and accountable future.
